I’m a partner at Placeholder, a venture capital firm based in New York City. I started the firm with my friend Chris Burniske and mentor Brad Burnham in the summer of 2017 after ~3 years at Union Square Ventures developing the firm's early blockchain investment thesis and portfolio. Prior to that I set up a government office in the Dominican Republic (where I’m from) with a mandate to develop the national tech startup agenda. There, in 2013, I fell down the crypto-rabbithole while researching alternative payment infrastructure technologies we could use across the continent, and since then it has occupied nearly all my mental space. I work to decentralize wealth and power by using cryptonetworks to restructure capitalism for the Information Age.
